Kanye West Ex-Manager John Monopoly Takes on Cannabis and Social Equity

Music industry legend and former Kanye West manager John Monopoly is teaming up with M-1 of Dead Prez and filmmaker Umi to run Urban Aroma, a social equity focused cannabis brand operating in New York and Washington DC. Some of Monopoly’s past accomplishments include working with artists like Missy Elliot and Busta Rhymes and developing brands like Pheed, Zumani, and Guff.

Monopoly will function as Urban Aroma’s CEO providing vision for the brand’s delivery service and dispensaries and guiding its fair access and social equity initiatives. In addition, Urban Aroma will support communities that have suffered under unfair cannabis laws in the past. According to the press release, “One of Monopoly’s first priorities as CEO is to organize a series of fundraising events in New York throughout the summer. Funds raised will benefit various cannabis and social equity-related philanthropic organizations.”

Urban Aroma and Monopoly want consumers to know that they won’t forget the cannabis industry’s underground roots. Instead, they promise to provide an ongoing resource for people negatively affected by the draconian cannabis laws of the past. Furthermore, Monopoly pledges to create a company culture advocating positive change to the cannabis industry’s policies and ownership representation in order to benefit previously marginalized communities.

Mandla Morris Attends Star-Studded Dior Men’s Show with ERL at Venice Beach

Mandla Morris, clothing designer, animal lover, and son of the great Stevie Wonder, attended The Dior Men’s Spring/Summer 2023 Collection show Thursday night in the heart of Venice Beach, CA. Also in attendance were his mother, Kai Milla, and friend Adam Sevani among other celebrities like Rita Ora, Taika Waititi, Kid Cudi, Christina Aguilera, Michael B. Jordan, Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham, Winnie Harlow, Kimora Lee Simmons, Tommy Hilfiger, Kelly Osborne, and Tony Hawk.

Mandla is an up-and-coming designer who came to check out the Dior Men’s collection, which is inspired by southern California’s skateboarding and surfing culture. ERL’s Eli Russell Linnetz was the guest designer giving Mandla the chance to rub elbows with one of his favorite designers. He said, “It’s great to see so many amazing people here tonight, and I love the fashion!”

Mandla is best known for his appearance on Dancing with the Stars: Juniors’ where he partnered with Brightyn Brems and was mentored by Cheryl Burke. He also made a cameo appearance in Bradly Cooper’s a Star is Born in 2018. A pianist from the age of 9, Mandla isn’t closing the door on entering the family business and maintains a deep love for music and performance. In his free time Mandla enjoys gaming.

Young children seem to enjoy puzzle platform games where they can move silly characters around a wacky obstacle course. The object of these kinds of games are to move your character around an imaginary world and acquire various objects to unlock further levels of the adventure. A good age to introduce kids into the world of puzzle platform gaming would probably be around 8 to 10 years of age when they begin to get better finger dexterity. New squirt weapons can be acquired and players can switch between using the human form or a weird looking, ink swimming, squid-like character called an “inkling.” It’s paint splattering fun for the entire family! “Statue” Song Creator Lil Eddie Releasing “6 Feet Away” April 8th

Lil Eddie has a huge fan base in Asia. Still, his songs resonate worldwide, as seen with the hit “Statue,” which amassed over 39 million streams on Spotify and 250 million views on Youtube while going viral on TikTok. Eddie’s new single, “6 Feet Away”, is a ballad written during the pandemic, a time of isolation for many. It’s surprising how humble Lil Eddie is, considering that he has produced and written for the top names in Latin music like Maluma, Daddy Yankee, Prince Royce, and CNCO. Eddie is widely respected in the industry and has helped develop the likes of 5th Harmony and Cody Simpson. Video: Sir Mix-a-Lot, Quavo Perform Opening Night at NFTLA

NFTLA opening ceremonies had a star-packed lineup with Sir Mix-a-Lot, Quavo and Waka Flocka Flame performing. First, Sir Mix-a-Lot did a round-up of the classics ending in the hit song Baby Got Back. Mix-a-Lot also pitched his NFT with Meta-X Studios, Bit Butts, which benefits the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. Next, the hall got energized when Quavo stepped on stage to perform his material for the packed crowd. Finally, Waka Flocka Flame took attendees to the moon with an outstanding performance to close out the night. Everyone in the house was impressed with the talent and looking forward to week ahead.

Tuesday Morning highlights included Mark Cuban and CEO of Fireside Falon Fatemi. Then, Warner Bros. Josh Hackbrath talked about how to bring blockbusters franchises into the NFT ecosystem. Fans are going crazy because DC and Warner Bros. announced the Bat Cowl Collection, dropping in late April.

Yat Siu was the keynote speaker and talked about creativity flourishing in the metaverse. In addition, Authentify Art hosted a VIP cocktail party with an opera performance in a dome created by Wisdome.LA, who also hosted the Beyond the Wall 360 immersive exploration of the music of Pink Floyd featuring Scott Page at the Wisdome Art Park.

Steve Aoki is Wednesday’s keynote and will speak about building community in a Web3 world, hosted by Neil Strauss. NFTLA is March 28-31 at the Los Angeles Convention center. Content will be streaming from March 29-31, with VOD playback available through April 30.

PRJCT Melrose Hosts Bricktopians & Law Degree at 1st Event of NFTLA

The PRJCT Melrose space is open for business after kicking off NFTLA with a Bricktopian’s party for Brain Boot. It was a handshake between the virtual and physical worlds where shoppers got a pair of shoes to wear IRL, and in the metaverse, with every NFT purchase. Monty Lopez to Soulja Boy “I’m The First to Burn a House in the Metaverse!”

The Blast reports that Monty Lopez, father of Addison Rae, mints the first Ouse Token NFT mansion and immediately burns it. Unfortunately, the house got lost forever when Monty tried to transfer the newly minted NFT to a secondary wallet for storage and accidentally burned it. The issue occurred because Monty chose a receiving wallet address on the Ethereum Mainnet, but the NFT was minted on the Binance Smart Chain.

They say a great man never stays down. So, in an attempt to save face Monty called out Soulja Boy saying, “tell Soulja I’m the first to burn a house in the metaverse!” We reached out to Soulja Boy for a comment but haven’t heard back yet. We can only hope that Monty’s show of bravado in the face of adversity doesn’t start beef between the two celebrities.
