Music industry legend and former Kanye West manager John Monopoly is teaming up with M-1 of Dead Prez and filmmaker Umi to run Urban Aroma, a social equity focused cannabis brand operating in New York and Washington DC. Some of Monopoly’s past accomplishments include working with artists like Missy Elliot and Busta Rhymes and developing brands like Pheed, Zumani, and Guff.
Monopoly will function as Urban Aroma’s CEO providing vision for the brand’s delivery service and dispensaries and guiding its fair access and social equity initiatives. In addition, Urban Aroma will support communities that have suffered under unfair cannabis laws in the past. According to the press release, “One of Monopoly’s first priorities as CEO is to organize a series of fundraising events in New York throughout the summer. Funds raised will benefit various cannabis and social equity-related philanthropic organizations.”
Urban Aroma and Monopoly want consumers to know that they won’t forget the cannabis industry’s underground roots. Instead, they promise to provide an ongoing resource for people negatively affected by the draconian cannabis laws of the past. Furthermore, Monopoly pledges to create a company culture advocating positive change to the cannabis industry’s policies and ownership representation in order to benefit previously marginalized communities.
So if you’re an east coaster who needs some chronic weed to help with your ailments, or you just want to relax and blaze while bumping some hip-hop this weekend… grab some Urban Aroma and get high with the knowledge that you’re money is doing more than just getting another corporation rich. If you’re looking to find video games kids love or you’re new to the world of gaming yourself, it can become somewhat overwhelming to select family-friendly video games that both you and your children can enjoy. Parents shouldn’t be misled by the numerous colorful and clever cover designs of video games. Those cute cartoon characters depicted on the front covers don’t necessarily equate to “family-friendly.” You might accidentally be purchasing an adult targeted shoot-em-up action game or something else you’d rather not have you child playing. Take the time to do a little research before you purchase a system or games to go along with that platform. There are some games that are exclusive to certain companies, but you can also find many family-friendly video titles that overlap onto other systems. It’s best to speak to a sales person at the store and ask your kids what type of games they might be interested in playing before purchasing a video game or system. Things to consider are price, content, and the availability of titles geared more towards children. For instance, Nintendo tends to be marketed more for the youth market but you can also find good family-oriented games on other platforms such as Xbox and PlayStation. Here are a few titles to introduce video games to both the young and adult beginners in your family.
JUST DANCE 2022
This is one of the most popular video games in 2022. Turn dancing into an activity for the entire family. “Just Dance 2022” features tunes from some of the biggest names in popular music including Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish, Katy Perry, and others. American singer, songwriter, choreographer, Todrick Hall earned national recognition following his appearance on the ninth season of the popular TV Show “American Idol.” This game features an exclusive version of his tune “Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels.” Follow along as Todrick goes through the dance moves to his catchy number.
This is a fun way to get a workout as a family and test their dancing abilities. “Just Dance 2022” will also promote your child’s appreciation of music. If you have a family member who is a bit shy, you can use this game to laugh and smile as performers. Teach your children to express themselves through dancing. The game is available on multi-platforms including: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia.
SUPER MONKEY BALL: BANANA MANIA
Who doesn’t love monkeys racing inside of giant rolling balls? This is the latest installment of one of the most critically acclaimed family video games of all-time. The courses are colorful, exciting, and features playful graphics. Kids love kart games where they can race characters around obstacles. Players roll their monkey characters inside a ball to stop the evil villain ‘Dr. Bah-Boom’ from blowing up Jungle Island. Party games are included for small groups of players including “monkey racing”, “monkey soccer”, “monkey baseball”, and more. Beginning players will discover that the game isn’t overly complicated to learn and families should have a lot of fun playing it together. Available on: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
SACKBOY: A BIG ADVENTURE
Young children seem to enjoy puzzle platform games where they can move silly characters around a wacky obstacle course. The object of these kinds of games are to move your character around an imaginary world and acquire various objects to unlock further levels of the adventure. A good age to introduce kids into the world of puzzle platform gaming would probably be around 8 to 10 years of age when they begin to get better finger dexterity. Puzzle platform games can improve a young child’s hand-to-eye coordination and motor skills. These types of games can also improve the player’s critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
“Sackboy: A Big Adventure” is a platform game that features a carnival-style adventure with a simple story for kids to enjoy. Sackboy is a heroic stuffed doll-like character spin-off from PlayStation’s “LittleBIGPlanet” (LBP) video game series. This version of the game features 3D platforming in a story that takes place in the imaginary land of “Craftworld.” The player helps Sackboy stop the villain from enslaving the sack people from the village of Loom. This game was the winner of the BAFTA Games Award (2021) for Best Family Game. “Sackboy: A Big Adventure” is available on: PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
If you’re like me, you probably loved playing water squirt gun battles when you were a kid or paintball. “Splatoon 2” is the video game world’s less messy version of a paint gun battle. Players use various paint guns to squirt ink over claimed territory during a face-paced turf war. New squirt weapons can be acquired and players can switch between using the human form or a weird looking, ink swimming, squid-like character called an “inkling.” It’s paint splattering fun for the entire family! Teams of up to four people can face off in this splatter-fest. A new version of the game is scheduled for release on September 9, 2022. Available on: Nintendo Switch.
BIG BRAIN ACADEMY: BRAIN VS. BRAIN
Test your family’s intelligence with “Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain.” This game challenges your ability to memorize numbers and objects as they flash by quickly on the screen. How well will you match up against the rest of the family? This is a terrific game for children and adults to play together. Trust me, your clever little kids will love busting your chops after they beat you. Each game is designed to challenge the player’s logic, math, and memory skills. Who will earn the mantle of the “smartest person in the family?” The “Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain” Ghost Clash mode allows you to compete against other family’s user data from around the world. See how your brainy family matches up against your know-it-all neighbors, or some smarty pants foreigners. Available on: Nintendo Switch.
Lil Eddie has a huge fan base in Asia. Still, his songs resonate worldwide, as seen with the hit “Statue,” which amassed over 39 million streams on Spotify and 250 million views on Youtube while going viral on TikTok. Eddie’s new single, “6 Feet Away”, is a ballad written during the pandemic, a time of isolation for many. But Eddie believes the song remains relevant today in a world full of loss from war. “6 Feet Away” is a song about remembering what matters most. It’s out April 8th on major streaming platforms.
It’s surprising how humble Lil Eddie is, considering that he has produced and written for the top names in Latin music like Maluma, Daddy Yankee, Prince Royce, and CNCO. Also, Disney star Coco Jones (Hillary in the Fresh Price reboot Bel-Air) uses Lil Eddie’s beats. Eddie is widely respected in the industry and has helped develop the likes of 5th Harmony and Cody Simpson. The music community highly values Eddie’s opinion, which led to him becoming a judge on X Factor Malto, Head of Music for La Banda, and Senior A&R at Sony Music. He is currently working in Amsterdam with up-and-coming artist Sevdeliza who has drawn the attention of superstar Billie Elish.
But it hasn’t been all green pastures for Lil Eddie. He’s seen his share of setbacks and felt more than a few bumps in the road. For instance, when his song, “Figura”, was deemed too sexual and banned from Instagram, he was forced to pivot and re-evaluate his approach. But you can’t keep a good man down. So Eddie regrouped and attacked his next project with a level of talent and enthusiasm that makes him one of the most sought-after producers today.
We asked Lil Eddie about writing “6 Feet Away,” and he said, “It’s a song I wrote during the pandemic about the state of the world missing the ones they love. With the world at war, I’m sure many people still feel this way. And, since BTS put ‘Statue’ on their Instagram, I wanted to put a song out which was still in the same temperature as ‘Statue’ to highlight my vocals and lyrics.” Lil Eddie’s new single “6 Feet Away” is streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer. Watch the video on YouTube and Apple Music.

The PRJCT Melrose space is open for business after kicking off NFTLA with a Bricktopian’s party for Brain Boot. Ouse Token founder, Tai Savet, organized the party, so plenty of Ouse Token merch was handed out. In addition, Chef Jorge, who caters many celebrity events, including parties by Guy Fieri, Shaquille O’Neal, and Paris Hilton, provided a fine array of finger foods for hungry guests.
In attendance was Victoria Fuller, Playboy Miss January 1996, and creator of the Gatefolds Rogue Playmate collection, dropping at the April 2022. Bricktopians are supercomputer built 3D NFTs that look like they were created with digital Lego-type blocks. According to the website, they are the “most technologically advanced (NFT) collection at this scale to launch to date.” This Sunday, NFT fans won’t want to miss the Melrose Brain Boot party by Law Degree at PRJCT with Yeezy & Louis Vuitton artists.
Law Degree was the artist behind LaMelo Ball’s $1.7 million NFT drop last year. Law Degree is also the co-founder of Bricktopians NFT, which sold out in 90 seconds in December. What makes Bricktopians so unique besides the value of community? One reason is that these NFTs evolve, add 4D serum and watch your NFT come to life!
Another is their uniqueness, “This is not a 3D collection where different shapes are slotted in through layering. Every single Bricktopian is unique, with each one being simulated individually from a new selection of bricks.” Furthermore, as described by thier marketing manager Thil , “The Brain Boot will be wearable in the metaverse and also in the physical world, with holders of the NFT being able to also own the physical shoe.” So, in essence the Brain Boot is forging the physical and digital realms.
The “Brick Team” has landed safely in Los Angeles and is primed for NFT Los Angeles and the big event on Sunday. Attendees of the party will be automatically whitelisted. In addition, owners of Bricktopians receive whitelist and a 30% discount on Brain Boots. If you want to get a Bricktopian before Sunday, head over to OpeaSea via the Bricktopians’ website.

Here’s a video from the last time we caught up with Addison Rae and The Rae Family…
The Blast reports that Monty Lopez, father of Addison Rae, mints the first Ouse Token NFT mansion and immediately burns it. Unfortunately, the house got lost forever when Monty tried to transfer the newly minted NFT to a secondary wallet for storage and accidentally burned it. The issue occurred because Monty chose a receiving wallet address on the Ethereum Mainnet, but the NFT was minted on the Binance Smart Chain.
They say a great man never stays down. So, in an attempt to save face Monty called out Soulja Boy saying, “tell Soulja I’m the first to burn a house in the metaverse!” We reached out to Soulja Boy for a comment but haven’t heard back yet. We can only hope that Monty’s show of bravado in the face of adversity doesn’t start beef between the two celebrities. Listen to Monty explain how he burnt down the Rae Family house in the metaverse in the video below!
Monty’s Ouse Token NFT was a one-of-a-kind piece of virtual real estate minted on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and one of the first Ouse Token (OUSE) homes in the collection of 25. Monty Lopez’s interest in Ouse is relevant considering a Forbes interview conducted last summer that revealed his involvement with renewable energy-focused bitcoin miner, Gryphon Digital Mining.
The NFTs are for sale on Ouse Token’s proprietary marketplace, Ousetoken.io. Ouse has been executing on its roadmap by minting a fungible token last year and following up with today’s NFT minting. After the NFTs are minted, the next phase on the Ouse Token roadmap is to launch the mobile AR app. Additionally, Ouse Token’s Exclusive Edition 3D NFTs can travel from marketplace to AR mobile app to eventual VR metaverse platform. The Ouse Token metaverse platform is under development and based on 3D renderings anchored to the Los Angeles plot map.
OUSE Token is the vision of celebrity Realtor and television producer Tai Savet, creator of VH1’s Love & Listings and owner of Agents of LA real estate brokerage. OUSE Token has created a celebrity-driven NFT marketplace based on virtual real estate in the metaverse. The momentum behind the Ouse Token project and the powerful force of Monty Lopez make Ouse Token NFTs an attractive virtual real estate option. In the future, Ouse Token plans to bridge the gap between virtual and physical real estate utilizing NFT blockchain technology.
Roderick Music Marketing (RMM) is kicking off its 6th Golf Beef celebrity charity golf tournament on Feb. 9th, 2022. The event is scheduled for Super Bowl week in Los Angeles, so the timing is perfect for celebrity attendance. True Legacy Premium Vodka is sponsoring the event, and past attendees included Snoop Dogg, Cedric The Entertainer, Matt Barnes, John Salley, Too Short, Mack 10, Trinidad James, Sticky Fingaz, Big Boy, and Smokey Robinson. Be sure to bring your favorite NFL Jersey and rep your team while enjoying some time on the links. Big Percy created golf Beef to highlight equality on the golf course. Their unorthodox approach to the rules of golf often runs amiss on conventional players. For example, Golf Beef awards the ‘ugliest golfer’ a Golf Beef award mask. Golf Beef’s charities benefit displaced and underserved families and children. This year’s causes include the Pomona City Movement, Snoop Youth Football League, and Burrough’s Varsity Lady Bears basketball team.
Golf Beef has a friendly vibe full of trash-talking, partying, and a lot of joking around. Furthermore, you don’t have to play in the tournament to get into the fun because spectators are always welcome. Golf Beef will hold contests throughout the day, including a Putting Contest, a Closest to the Pin Contest, and a Longest Drive Contest. If you can’t make the event, you can still support the organization and its charities by donating here. Check the video below to get an idea of what to expect at Golf Beef VI.
