Ukrainian fighter Enriko Gogokhia, a rising star in boxing, with a record of (13-0) with 8 KOs, is fighting Puerto Rican American Kent Cruz (16-0-1) at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, NV. The bout is set for eight rounds in what is sure to be a thrilling match between two undefeated fighters. Gogokhia vs. Cruz is a preliminary fight on the Keith Thurman (29-1-0) vs. Mario Barrios (26-1-0) main ticket event, which is available on FOX Sports pay-per-view for around $75 bucks.
Regarding the main event, Mario Barrios says that the former WBA/WBC welterweight champion Thurman has “made a mistake” in choosing him as a comeback, or tune-up, opponent. Keith Thurman is 33 years old and may find trouble fighting against a 26-year-old Barrios, still in his prime. Thurman’s last time in the ring was a 2019 loss via split decision against Manny Pacquaio. On the other hand, Barrios had a crushing defeat to Gervonta “Tank” Davis after numerous knockdowns and a TKO in the 11th round of their fight last year.
When TLP asked Gogokhia if he had a message for Kent Cruz ahead of next Saturday’s fight, he replied, “he’s going to lose (that’s) everything I can say about him.” Born in Georgia and raised in Ukraine, the former champion kickboxer moved to Los Angeles to pursue a professional boxing career. Enriko has a vast social media following and is attracting much attention, including an endorsement deal by the Ouse Token virtual real estate NFTs augmented reality mobile platform.
