Lil Eddie has a huge fan base in Asia. Still, his songs resonate worldwide, as seen with the hit “Statue,” which amassed over 39 million streams on Spotify and 250 million views on Youtube while going viral on TikTok. Eddie’s new single, “6 Feet Away”, is a ballad written during the pandemic, a time of isolation for many. But Eddie believes the song remains relevant today in a world full of loss from war. “6 Feet Away” is a song about remembering what matters most. It’s out April 8th on major streaming platforms.
It’s surprising how humble Lil Eddie is, considering that he has produced and written for the top names in Latin music like Maluma, Daddy Yankee, Prince Royce, and CNCO. Also, Disney star Coco Jones (Hillary in the Fresh Price reboot Bel-Air) uses Lil Eddie’s beats. Eddie is widely respected in the industry and has helped develop the likes of 5th Harmony and Cody Simpson. The music community highly values Eddie’s opinion, which led to him becoming a judge on X Factor Malto, Head of Music for La Banda, and Senior A&R at Sony Music. He is currently working in Amsterdam with up-and-coming artist Sevdeliza who has drawn the attention of superstar Billie Elish.
But it hasn’t been all green pastures for Lil Eddie. He’s seen his share of setbacks and felt more than a few bumps in the road. For instance, when his song, “Figura”, was deemed too sexual and banned from Instagram, he was forced to pivot and re-evaluate his approach. But you can’t keep a good man down. So Eddie regrouped and attacked his next project with a level of talent and enthusiasm that makes him one of the most sought-after producers today.
We asked Lil Eddie about writing “6 Feet Away,” and he said, “It’s a song I wrote during the pandemic about the state of the world missing the ones they love. With the world at war, I’m sure many people still feel this way. And, since BTS put ‘Statue’ on their Instagram, I wanted to put a song out which was still in the same temperature as ‘Statue’ to highlight my vocals and lyrics.” Lil Eddie’s new single “6 Feet Away” is streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer.
